Principal's Message
¡Hola familia Becker!
It's hard to believe we are already approaching the end of October. This year has been a busy one, and it's just getting busier. We are looking forward to some of our favorite annual events; Book Character Parade, Fall Fest, and this week our SEL committee has planned Love Your Brain Week-full of fun dress up days. Thanks to our amazing PTA, our kiddos have been loading the buses and heading out on some great field trips. It has brought me so much joy to see our students participating in so many fun and enriching activities!
On the back end of things, working to fill vacancies, onboarding new staff, and supporting new staff continues to be a top priority. We have yet to be fully staffed and have had two staff members move on to the next chapter in their careers since the start of the school year. I'm grateful for the support we have received from reliable substitutes and even parents who have stepped up to sub for us. Thank you!
You've probably noticed that our blacktop resurfacing and striping has been completed. Work is scheduled to begin on fixing our track just prior to the Thanksgiving break and should be complete in early January. Also, our proposal to add fencing between the main building and the annex has been accepted. It is so great to see the progress on these much needed updates and improvements.
Austin ISD has called a bond for the November 8 election that would fund critical repairs to our buildings, improve safety and security at every campus, and upgrade technology to support student learning.
